Tarangire • Ngorongoro Crater • Lake Manyara

Day 1: Arusha / Kilimanjaro Airport → Tarangire National Park

Drive time: Approx. 2–2.5 hours

Your safari begins with a morning pickup from Arusha City, Arusha Airport (ARK), or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). After meeting your professional safari guide, you drive to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most underrated wildlife areas.

Tarangire is especially famous for:
• Large elephant families
• Ancient baobab trees
• High predator concentration during the dry season

Upon entering the park, you begin a full afternoon game drive. Wildlife sightings commonly include elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and lions. During the dry season, animals gather along the Tarangire River, creating excellent viewing opportunities.

You enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park, followed by continued game viewing until late afternoon. As the sun lowers, you exit the park and drive to your lodge for check-in, dinner, and overnight rest.

Day 2: Tarangire Area → Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive

Drive time: Approx. 2.5–3 hours

After an early breakfast, you depart toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, ascending through scenic highlands and Maasai landscapes. Upon arrival, you descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most wildlife-dense locations.

The crater floor hosts:
• Lions, elephants, buffalo, and black rhinos
• Large hippo pools and flamingos at Lake Magadi
• Year-round wildlife due to permanent water sources

You spend 5–6 hours on a crater game drive, maximizing chances of seeing the Big Five in one day. A picnic lunch is served at a designated site inside the crater.

In the late afternoon, you ascend from the crater and continue to the Karatu or Ngorongoro Highlands area, where you relax at your lodge surrounded by coffee farms and cooler mountain air.

Day 3: Karatu → Lake Manyara National Park → Arusha / JRO

Drive time: Approx. 2–3 hours total

After breakfast, you drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact but extremely diverse ecosystem nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

Lake Manyara is known for:
• Groundwater forest with giant fig trees
• Large baboon and monkey populations
• Seasonal flamingos along the lake shore
• Famous (though rare) tree-climbing lions

You enjoy a leisurely game drive, ideal for photography and relaxed wildlife viewing. Due to the park’s size, you cover multiple habitats in a short time, making it a perfect final safari day.

After lunch, you exit the park and drive back to Arusha City or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), marking the end of your 3-day Tanzania safari.
